Quality - What is it? If we started down this road we would not soon be
back. Let's talk about Quality Management, instead: That's how people
manage the processes that they are putting in place to help assure quality
in their software development life-cycle. Software QA involves the entire
software development PROCESS - monitoring and improving the process, making
sure that any agreed-upon standards and procedures are followed, and
ensuring that problems are found and dealt with. It is oriented to
'prevention'.
Then there's testing ... There are lots of kinds of software testing - and
there are a lot of opportunities in the life-cycle to take advantage of
testing and validation practices.
